The greatest vista on the planet that has a hazy washed out sky will always look like a great vista that never came together; it's an image with massive potential but lacked the execution to make it a great.

The greatest vista on the planet
Though the images in this article may not make it into the great category, I do feel like they represent thoughtful photography. These images represent a loose game plan, and the flexibility to change that plan. My approach to nature photography is about scheming for images, while obviously letting the terrain dictate the ultimate concept of the photo. Especially as a landscape photographer you have the ultimate say as to whether or not you are going to pull the trigger. When you think the scene is just right, or as close to just right as it is going to get, then you can make your picture.

Hopefully this article will give the reader an idea into some of the time, preparation, and thought process behind some of the images. Having said that, of course at the end of the day, like many things, photography is subjective; and, so any image that appeals to you works just fine. Thanks for your time, and happy hunting out there.
